Hello.
My name is Amanda Goins, and I am a wife, mother, homesteader, and end-of-life doula. As a healthcare worker as in radiology, I have always gravitated toward my geriatric and elderly patients, and took a special interest in the well-being of those facing terminal illness. I find great inspiration and hope in those that have faced or are currently facing incredibly challenging times, and I feel it is a great honor to assist them with the process of tying up any loose ends and leaving this world with peace.
Please note, this is a non-medical role, and doesn't replace or interfere with medical care, palliative care, or hospice care. An End-of-Life Doula is there exclusively as support and advocacy, and will always defer any medical needs to those professionals.
A "good death" is one where we feel heard, cared for, and in control of our decisions. That can look very different for each person, but my goal in this non-medical role is to educate, advocate, and support you or your loved one at the end of their life. Additionally, this work can be done years before it is needed, allowing you to know you have taken care of everything, and when the time comes, no one will be left wondering if they did want you would have wanted. If you would like to discuss options, please contact me.
